ridiculous! i wonder how much the austrians paid the referee man. second penalty appeal by england was a very valid one. ridiculous that it wasn't given. even more ridiculous was beckham's sending off. now, i am no monisha cheong (who worships the air that guy breathes). nope not even close. but his two yellow cards were downright ridiculous. first one was an extremely fair challenge for the ball in the air. that sissy berger guy was not man enough for a little fondle on his cheek, and went down writhing in agony. second one was a plain joke. the only thing that might have touched the same sissy berger guy was a brush of beckham's shoelace. tsk. and he fell to the ground squealing in sissy pain. ridiculous. i don't see how, in any way, it warranted even a freekick. much less a yellow card and the eventual sending off. goodness! if england had lost................. the referee better thank his lucky stars that england won or he'd have a family of very angry lees on his case.

i'm sorry. it's that time again. where tony blair is the new lee kuan yew. where god bless the queen is sung instead of majullah singapura. where everyone in the household fancies him or herself as a particular clownish looking swede who, coincidentally manages the england team. where the red and white of the singapore flag is rearranged into a white flag with a red cross. yep so bear with me.

i mean if beckham's nontouches was good enough for a yellow card, that violent-but-act-innocent austrian number four should have been thrown in jail. first he held onto owen's arm, a clear foul which was rightly punished with a penalty. then he distinctly hacked owen down from behind. to name just two of his countless fouls on england players. he didn't even pick up a booking. ridiculous. those bucks the austrians paid the referee must've been pretty big ones.

crouch was surprisingly good. could be very central in the england team in the future. could potentially partner rooney, with owen looking less and less sharp. good use of him. many a long ball being fired to him, with him laying down the ball for his teammates. young was another great one. really quick thinking and dangerously fast. can take over gary slow-and-senile-neville already. lampard was, as usual, cool calm and terrific. gerrard was clueless throughout the whole match. granted his high balls could've been meant for crouch, but even crouch is not as tall as old trafford's roof lah. countless mishits were uncalled for. beckham was okay. but he should sstay out right, where he plays best, instead of cluttering the middle with his very unwanted presence. terry strong steady brilliant, everything you want in a man. ferdinand surprisingly steady too. think he forges a better partnership with terry than campbell, who's not that bad really. carragher not bad, but still prefer phil neville. missing ashley cole badly though. the other cole, joe, was quite a disappointment. expected alot more from him. yeah he made a few cool set ups but should've taken his chances better. all in all, a poor match, considering they were playing against an austrian team whose best attributes were rifling shots that are less accurate than my weather predictions and its violence. sigh. a win is still a win though.

quek resh tara wanted to go look for prom stuff tmr. crazy. i ain't going promming till the thing actually comes. why must everyone wear dresses anyway? makes me feel compelled to wear one too. and makeup. oh darn. don't wanna do it. but don't wanna look outta place either. ohwells. better go off now or sandy moses and the gang will have my head if i turn up late for church again. more relevant stuff next time.
