alright so i'm back. after a loooong break from blogging. predominantly because i wasn't in the mood to. you know those times when you just can't bring yourself to blog? yeah.
had prom on thursday. aunt forced me to paint my toenails the night before because both my big-toenails were all black, courtesy of *****'s boots. hmph. shall never buy boots from him again. anyway. to say prom was fun would be an understatement. it totally ROCKED LIKE CRAZY!!! a night full of glitz and glamour... could never have imagined my dear fellow schoolmates looking soooooo gorgeous. after all... we've all seen each other at our worst right? haha (think black eye rings from sleepless nights, bad hair days when the pony tail starts to defy gravity, stress-induced breakouts, the list goes on). and best of all, i spent it with the softballers. my funnest, craziest, retardedest and dearest friends ever :)
went with resh deb and ruoqi to do hair and makeup before prom. the four of us, the most unlikely people to doll up our faces and sport fancy hairstyles... and we went together! as resh said, it would either be a miserable flop or a whooting success, and i'm so so glad that it turned out to be the latter :) haha we should've taken pictures of the before and after. my oh my, the transformation! first to be done was ruoqi (duh) and seeing her with makeup is shocking enough already. and she had cool red sparkly streaks in her hair, so us being us, all simply had to follow
suit. then saw deb with her hair done. it was half up half down, and i can't really describe how it looked like (a picture would do it more justice) but it looked GORGEOUS on her. the gold sparkly streaks also suited her perfectly. hahaha thank goodness the hair stylist "saved" her hair before that. lol could hear all the angry grunts coming from him while he was trying to salvage the damage done by her dearest mother. deb, never let your mom touch your hair again haha. and then for the finale... reshvinder kaur bhullar, potential rising bollywood star and
miss india finalist hahah. she got her hair straightened and it looked sooooooo long, all the way down to err below her back. like a nice black fountain flowing down from her scalp haha... we were all like "resh!!! so chio!!!" so yep all these amazing transformations for an average of 40bucks each! where else can you get such a good deal, but at dear aunty pauline's? i'm so going back there in 2 yrs' time for jc prom. heh :)
went back to deb's house to change after that, then left for meritus mandarin. xianhui and jem had our room keys but they were still doing their hair and makeup, so we were left stranded in the middle of the posh hotel lobby, waiting for deb's mom to come and save us. why save? because all round, all our dear schoolmates were coming in looking totally glamorous in their long flowing gowns, and carrying tiny elegant evening pouches. and there we were too, in our lovely evening wear, gorgeous hair and makeup, but carrying huge sports bags, shoebags with gloves and caps popping out, big ghastly plastic bags, etc. a total mismatch i tell you. haha. but then again that's so us.
so blabla then xianhui and jem came in and they looked sooooo gorgeous too! lol xianhui and her "tall hair" and jem's nice and simple straightened out hair. their makeup was also really well done. saw moni emerald weitian and karwei at the dinner too and they also looked so fab, glam and pretty! so yay, softballers looking CHIO for once :) hmm dinner. i -think- the food was good but can't really judge since i only had a few morsels of here and there. was too busy taking pictures. the prom pageant was cool too... jiayi was our class representative and she danced
reallyreallyreally well! and she got first runners-up! woohoooooo i'm so proud of her :) and of course there was tara, the prom queen! the most gorgeous one there, and the coolest dance moves ever! esp since her moonwalk was self-learned and all those coolio robotic movements all seemed so natural on her... sigh so envious =P
yep so everyone was so engrossed in taking pictures and watching performances that the night just flew by so quickly. couldn't believe it when prom ended. danced along to deb's rendition of jolin tsai's "ai qing" on the way back to the hotel room. then we were all feeling so sad and nostalgic, because the end of prom wasn't just the end of prom, but it also signified the end of an absolutely fun, enriching and memorable four years. so took manymany pictures before heading down to orchard road to see the night lights. yeah right. softballers toddling about in heels down orchard road just wouldn't do. so of course we did the most logical thing. buy snacks from Cheers and pig out in the hotel room. haha what a softballer thing. then we were supposed to remove our makeup or get horrid breakouts the next morning. but resh, deb and i just couldn't bear to. we were all cinderellas for a night and were unwilling to be reduced back to ashes. so it was photowhoring again. blabla skipskip jem xh and gee came over to talk and snack, full of crazy fun and laughter as usual. finally decided to sleep at 4. but just as we were all nicely tucked into bed, nocturnal deb snapped into action. refer to xh's blog for details ;)
okay i'm getting tired... for the next morning, refer to gee's and xh's blogs for details heh heh. all i can say is the breakfast was super good esp the salmon sashimi (I LOVE ALL KINDS OF SASHIMI) and it was so sad that we had to shovel it all down :( felt like puking during training after that. yes i still can't believe we went for training. alright that's about it for prom. till next time then.
