havent gone online in eternity. christmas/new year season is hectic man. hectic. but since xianhui REALLY wants me to blog about today's incident, i shall take some time off to immortalize this historic moment.
so we went to bel's church today to watch jem dance (HAHAHAHAHA! damn drama lah, that jem =)). while waiting for the musical to start, we started chatting. but you know us, just cant keep our mouths shut lah. so as usual, our conversation was a recount of one of the hilarious things the softballers do (this time it was about the NAME GAME. snickers...) because, well, we NEVER have a normal conversation. so as usual, we were laughing our *toots* off. well, i guess laughing her *toot* off wasnt enough for xianhui... she had to go laugh her braces-rubberband off too! haha it was damn damn damn damn funny!
xh: guess! ruoqi guess who he is!!!!! hahahahahaha.
rq: err... is it *censored*?
gee and me: mwahahahahahahahaha! YAH!!!!
xh: YAH!!! he's soooooooo THAT right?!!!
all of us start laughing hilariously at this instance. xianhui is having maaaaad convulsions in her chair, shaking violently, with her jaws opening so wide that you can see saliva spilling out from her parotid salivary glands and gushing down her throat! SUDDENLY, she unleashes this especially ferocious laugh and leans forward in her chair when.... *snap*! rq, gee and i are momentarily stunned. our stares are, for a lingering moment, fixated on this transparent blob-ish thing that propels from within the depths of xianhui's cavernous mouth and flies in a perfect parabola (yes, pun intended, miss parabolas1207) onto...
all of us: WHAAT?! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
rq: eh xh, your braces rubberband landed on that girl's collarbone leh.
me and gee: HAHAHAHAHA! where? where? (straining necks) i want to see!
me: it was a large blob of saliva lah! not bracesrubberband!
xh: no it was the rubber band from my braces! (opens mouth- which renders me blind for a second- to prove it)
rq: i think it fell down her shirt.
all of us: WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
ok maybe it doesnt seem as funny but it was positively hilarious at that time. with ruoqi trying to persuade xh to admit it to the girl so that she wont get a shock when she goes home today to find a foreign object encased in her cleavage. with xh trying her best to look really innocent. with gee and i laughing more than our *toots* off =). ah how i love the softballers so.
gee was daaaaaaamn biker chick today. sweltering indoors today man. with HARLEYDAVIDSON sprawled across her blouse some more. jem was marvelous! haha we were all like... *grips each others' hands and gesture insanely at jem* "omg omg omg! that's jem!"... *wave wave* "do you think she can see us?" *wave wave*... haha. but the musical was nice. i liked jackson. for reasons that extend beyond the musical alone. we all went home after that. gee and i kept making pacts to slap each other haha. psychopathic behaviour is soooo 2006!
went to the book fair at expo with the family in the morn. i wanted to buy every single book there. but in the end i limited myself to only 78 dollars worth of books. we spent a bomb there lah. and i didnt even get alllll the books i wanted. then we left. mum wanted to "have a look" at bedsheets and pillowcases at the metro sale next door. dad made an unfortunate mistake in allowing her to do so. dad, sibs and i were draaaaagged round metro looking at "downs" pillows and "feathery" pillows and powerpuff girl pillowcases and satin quilt covers and BLAH BLAH BLAH for the next hour or two. by the time we left, i had no time to meet the gang at parkway =( sorry man. i was really looking forward to it!
going to daniel's bbq tmr. grins. there's gonna be a gooooooood show on. what with *ahem* and *ahem* being there. i cant wait =) and they PROMISED to play bridge with me hah. i'm no longer the lousy girl who depended on moses's intelligence and peter's stupidity to win ok! i've been honing my skills with night-to-dawn sessions with dad, uncle and brothers. as well as some online sessions of internet bridge. =) canr wait! sigh but i cant stay too long coz i've got another new year party afters. but i'm gonna play bridge at that one too so. hah.
christmas was only OKAY this year. coz there wasnt enough time to prepare everything. alot of slipshod work and.. yah. not as organized as previous years. but oh well. after two christmas eve parties, went to church with my family and corcor's friend for midnight mass. funnily enough, we were on time. my family is NEVER "on time" for mass. but church was already so packed that there was no sitting down space. then i caught sight of moses and sandy and jeremy and gang waving. they wanted to make space for me but i decided to be a good girl and stand with my family. well, i'm never one to pass endurance tests, so 15 minutes into mass i went over to them and squashed myself in between. mass was booooooring. but we had a hoot laughing at father william's attempts at being "awe-inspiring" and stuff. haha. he was BOOMING into the microphone and punctuating each word with a "supposedly-dramatic" silence. but even that got boring after awhile. thank god for the christmas carols. moses was damn funny. he kept trying to sing in a falsetto. and the both of us were trying to do a two part harmony. which was hilarious man.
yup after mass i didnt go back to sandy's house with the rest of them coz i was insanely tired and unforgivably grounded. i should've gone coz i heard that they had a load of fun man. and i wanted to catch up with joel too. but too bad. i guess they'll just have to tell me the scandals another time. which reminds me... OH HO! BEN AND JO. SANDY AND NAT. naughty naughty. i bet there's loads more. heh. but it's really sick lah. ben is such a buaya! i never thought that of him. that's... sick lah. he's sick.
then i got an sms at 3:30am from cheekopek. and i decided that i wasnt sleepy anymore so i sneaked out to join the gang for some coffee. if i had gotten caught, my parents would've grounded me so deep that i would be the first person living in the core of the earth. thank goodness i wasnt. i mean, it was christmas and all, so i decided to be bad just once. just once.
christmas day was okay. spent it with drunk relatives and stuff. i drank as much and was still soberer than my auntie ok!
then my family had to go home early to pack for the trip to batam. i didnt want to go because a) THREE WHOLE DAYS FREE OF THE MOST ANNOYING PEOPLE ON EARTH! b) heard that thomaswong was going. and i didnt wanna be the girl amongst the guys again. c) free to do whatever i wanted!
on monday i was supposed to meet yvonne but she was too lazy and wanted to watch the mtv movie awards. so i went to bry's house to hang out with them. on tuesday i slept till 12pm and then i woke up to watch my tape of the mtv movie awards. the kiss between rachel mcadams and ryan gosling made me want tp watch the notebook again. so i did. and then i felt like watching mean girls. so i did. then i went to nicole's party. and had loads of fun. didnt sleepover coz bel was supposed to come to my house to sleepover. but she wasnt allowed to! so i went to yilin's house for awhile after leaving nicole's and stole her fullhouse series. then i went home and watched fullhouse in my parent's room, on their big television, snuggle din their big and comfy bed. until about 5 am. j2 brother was damn irritating. he played some stupid warcraft thing until 5am, annoying me with the stupid noises. he's been playing computer like mad these days. liek his life depended on it. well, i mean, yah he's going off to army already but. dont disturb me while i'm watching fullhouse!! met bel in the morning at parkway on wednesday. we did our stuff. haha. the things we do when we're alone! haha. had youth training in the evening but i didnt feel like leaving bel. and since shuxian wasnt going, ruoqi and i decided that we didnt want to go too. went home in the evening after dropping something by bry's house. then the family came home and my fairy tale ended.
anyway after watching the mtv movie awards, i thought about actors. and i was thinking who the best actors are. i've decided on
1) the two toms. (hank and cruise)
----while hank is a better, more versatile actor, cruise is an inspirational one. dont get me wrong. i do not sanction cruise's cradle snatching fettishes (katie holmes), and i think he needs a new optician (dumping nicole kidman for penelope cruz?!). but i do admit that he has made many great movies in his time. he "had me at hello" in jerry maguire. and the mission impossible series, i totally liked! oh, war of the worlds really made me forget how much i hated him for dumping nicole kidman. hanks is undeniably a greate actor. forrest gump! that's one of my favourite movies of all times. and tom hanks can really make me weep. i'd save this private ryan anytime!
2) sean penn. even if you totally ignored his powerful performances in mystic river, the thin red line, the assassination of richard nixon and the interpreter, he could still be on this list purely based on I AM SAM! i cried too hard to ignore that.
3) denzel washington and samuel l jackson! they have such commanding presences that their performances, alone, can totally influence the outcome of a movie. dwashington was really inspirational in the pelican brief and the bone collector, as well as training day and man on fire. but it really was remember the titans that had me. and sjackson! what can i say about him man. he's probably the greatest of the greatest. he really really really lights up a movie. coach carter was inspiring because of him. the negotiator was inspiring coz of him. etc.
4) pierre brosnan. 007, he's my man! haha. not really. it was his performance in evelyn that finally made me swing his way.
5) bruce willis! forever. armageddon made me cry so bad. if only i was liv tyler! i would never have let bruce willis give himself up for stupid ben affleck. and do i even need to mention the sixth sense, tears of the sun, the jackal, the kid and so on? no, i dont think so.
6) johnny johnny johnny depp... i dont care. he's the ultimate. the most versatile of them all! edward scissorhands. charlie and the chocolate factory. pirates of the carribean. finding neverland. sleepy hollow. all these great movies are testament to this great man. i tkae my hat off, mr wonka.
7) ryan gosling. i'm telling ya, he's the best new actor of this age. this generation. whatever you call it. he's the best. if the notebook wasnt enough to convince you, then... get lost! it must've been enough to convince you!
8) joaquin phoenix. well, the village and ladder 49 nearly killed me. the village because it was terribly shocking. and ladder 49 becuase i almost died of a broken heart when he died.
9) adam sandler and ben stiller. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! (hey, it's not easy to act dumb ok)
10) leo di caprio. titanic and romeo and juliet. he IS the king of tragic love movies. the aviator, catch me if you can and gangs of new york. he is ALSO the king of non-tragic, non-love movies! if only he'd dump gisele...
11) mel gibson. i really feel him man, i do! the patriot (my family's favourite movie), what women want, we were soldiers... i really feel him man.
12) orlando bloom. OK FINE! HE'S EYE CANDY! but you cant deny that he's a very watchable piece of candy as well. i mean, pirates of the carribean, legolas (oh sorry, i meant lord of the rings), troy, KINGDOM OF HEAVEN, black hawk down.
13) don cheadle. ocean's 11, ocean's 12 and hotel rwanda. there's no stopping this man!
14) matt damon. ask resh, and she'll give you a million better reasons to justify this than i ever can. he's the bomb.
15) ewan mcgregor and ethan hawke. they really are good, arent they? romance heroes. totally.
ok i guess that was just for my benefit. haha. just felt like typing that down. off to see the wizrd now! ciao.
